Win 1000 euro – OnPaper International Printmaking Award 2017

OnPaper International Printmaking Award 2017

The OnPaper organization has launched its 3nd annual International Printmaking Award and is currently accepting entries for 2017.

The competition has been created to promote the art of printmaking and connect printmakers around the world.




One award of 1000 Euro will be awarded to the the winning artist. There’s also a second prize of 50 sheets of eco-friendly Awagami Factory paper – worth 500 Euro. The shortlisted artists will have their work exhibited at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, in Chicago, USA, in July 2017.

Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 300mm x 400mm (30cm x 40cm). The print size can be any within the size of the paper. The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screenprinting, lithography, etching, collagraph, monotipe, electro-etching, woodcut, photopolymer, etc.

Artists are encouraged to use non-toxic techniques.

Submissions must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not previously awarded.

The South Bend Museum of Art features a full spectrum of historical and contemporary art featured in five galleries. A wide range of artistic traditions are taught in our world-class art studios. Located inside the Century Center in downtown South Bend, Indiana, the SBMA is an architectural delight. Designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee, the museum occupies three levels in the northern wing of the building.

The South Bend Museum of Art affirms the enduring power of the visual arts to reflect and create community, engage minds, and nurture growth through exhibitions, collections and educational programs.

The South Bend Museum of Art’s all media Biennial 29 will present a diverse look into contemporary artwork in the Midwest and is open to all artists residing in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The number of exhibiting artists is deliberately limited to allow for the showing of a greater body of work by each artist. This year’s exhibition (July 8 – October 1, 2017) will be juried by Miranda Lash, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Speed Art Museum. $1,500 in awards will be selected by the juror and $1,500 in purchase awards will be chosen by the South Bend Museum of Art’s Collections Committee. A color brochure detailing exhibiting artists will also be produced. $20 entry fee. Deadline: April 1, 2017.

The South Bend Museum of Art (SBMA) is seeking large-scale two- and three-dimensional artwork for long-term display in Sightlines, a collaborative project between the SBMA and the Century Center in South Bend, IN. The two year exhibition (June 17, 2017 – May 19, 2019) will highlight 3 new artists alongside 3 current artists. $1000 stipend for each selected artist. A modest printed piece will also be produced. All artists are eligible. Indoor and outdoor sites are available and will be considered for accepted proposals. Artist submission review and selection will be by representatives from the SBMA and the Century Center. $10 entry fee. Deadline: April 1, 2017
